# Arduino Duemilanove w/Atmega328 won't upload

I recently purchased an Arduino Duemilanove w/Atmega328 and it won’t upload. I keep getting the following errors:

avrdude: stk500\_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x30

avrdude: stk500\_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

I made sure the board was selected for the Atmega328 and it still won’t upload.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on how to fix this?
