I think I have a defective one has anyone else had this issue?
Link to the battery you’re using and photos of your setup please.
As above; also please double-check that the battery polarity matches the board’s
I appreciate the response. Seems I had the polarity wrong. Everything is working besides the fuel gauge. I’m guessing this got damaged from the reverse polarity? Is this common?
Very likely, reverse polarity will often damage or destroy electronic assemblies.
Ok, all good. I have another one coming in, I feel like such an idiot for not checking polarity. Thank you for the help!!
It happens, good learning experience though, it could have been a really expensive board you “learned” on! (Don’t ask me how I know…)
Hey guys so I got a new battery babysitter and obviously didn’t make the polarity issue this time. I am trying to get a reading on my esp32 for the fuel guage and I am getting nothing still. Any ideas?
Still having issues with the fuel gauge reading. I got a new board and I am still getting this:
[ 5066][E][Wire.cpp:513] requestFrom(): i2cRead returned Error 263
When reading values from SDA 21 and SCL pin 22
I got a new one and I still can’t read values from gauge
What all is being shown if you run i2cdetect?
Which esp32 are you using?
This was totally my fault. I am running a 10,000mah lipo. I had both EN1 and EN2 on so the charge was super slow. I thought there was an issue when the battery percent read value was 1%. I turned off EN2 a few hours ago and my percent is up at 27% now! Very very happy/excited. Words cannot describe it. Really appreciate your help. Also I think the pin issue was a loose connection on VPU. Didn’t realize I needed power on that.
Awesome! Happy hacking
