What is the best sparkfun product to allow control of arduino via bluetooth on iphone.

I have an old bluetooth mate but cannot get iphone to see it.

To interface with iPhone devices you’ll need to use a board that supports BLE…you can **either** grab a module **or** replace the regular arduino with an arduino-compatible, BLE-capable one instead:

For a BLE module I’d recommend [SparkFun BlueSMiRF v2 - Headers - SparkFun Electronics](https://www.sparkfun.com/sparkfun-bluesmirf-v2-headers.html)

For a arduino-compatible BLE board I like this one [SparkFun RedBoard Artemis - SparkFun Electronics](https://www.sparkfun.com/sparkfun-redboard-artemis.html)

thank you for your response.
I have an Redboard artemis , but the arduino IDE gives an error message when I try to upload a sketch.

I have the IDE set to Arduino UNO.

Should the artemis be listed in the IDE options?

Yep -[follow the setup guide here to install the Apollo3 board support package](https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/artemis-development-with-arduino#arduino-installation) and then select “RedBoard Artemis” as the board and give it another try 🙂
