Hi.

I would like to connect your ‘Spectral Sensor Breakout - AS7263 NIR’ with a PCB that has several sensors of its own.

This PCB is actually a wearable-device and I would like to add a spectral sensing measurement by adding your device.

That device supports I2C protocol and they specifically say in their datasheet that “The haptic drive circuit features a logic level gate drive N-Channel MOSFET and a flyback diode to 3V for switching inductive loads.”

I saw that your device also supports I2C protocol, and I think (not totally sure) it can work with 3v. Can I connect it with the wearable device? How do I perform the reading from your device?

Thank you in advance

Hello Eyal.

You’d need to write software for your wearable device to request readings from the AS7263 sensor to get it to work. If you can do that, you should be able to connect the AS7263 to your device via I2C and 3.3 volt power. Unfortunately it’s not as simple as just connecting the two boards and they work.

The example code we have for the AS7263 in the [[hookup guide](https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/as726x-nirvi) might help you with writing your own code, but it might not work as-is with your device.]([https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/as726x-nirvi](https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/as726x-nirvi))

Ok, thanks. I will look deeply into it.

Additionally, I would like to add my own LED with different wavelengths (940nm).

Can I ask you to do so? If not, how would you recommend me to do that?

Hi Eyal.

Unfortunately we can not customize the board for you, but all you would need to do is desolder the old LED and replace it with your new one. You may also need to consult the data sheet for your LED to see if the current limiting resistors on our board are appropriate for the new LED and swap that too if need be.

Is it possible to connect the additional LED in the slot of the incandescent bulb?

Thanks again, Eyal

That would probably work. You may need to add a current limiting resistor depending on the LED you use though.
