# EM-402 External Antenna Question

Reading the datasheet ([http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/GPS/ … 0Specs.pdf](http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/GPS/EM-402%20Specs.pdf)) for this module, I can’t find a couple of pieces of info that I’d like:

1. The unit supports an external antenna. How does one switch between the two antennas? Can it be done in software (eg can I install it as-is, route the external connection outside of my project, and still switch antennas?).

2. Does anyone have dimensions on the integrated antenna (specifically the thickness, including the backplane)?
