# ESP8266 WiFi Shield - SparkFun WRL-13287 software problem

Hello, I have a problem with the SparkFun WiFi Shield - ESP8266 UART selector switch is set to “HW”, all the bits and bytes programmed in the Arduino were also transferred to the ESP8266 - false data put the ESP8266 in an unknown state.

Can I re-program the original ESP software and where can I get it (code). Thank you.

it looks the firmware that was originally on the shield can be found here [https://github.com/sparkfun/ESP8266\_WiFi\_Shield](https://github.com/sparkfun/ESP8266_WiFi_Shield).
