This product will not turn on or even charge. it has been plugged in for two days and has not shown any sign of life. I changed the battery out with another one that I had that had a broken port and still has not turn on on. Im not sure what has caused this to happen please help.

Welcome! Sorry for the hassle. The display is likely not displaying anything which causes the ‘won’t turn on’ behavior. Since you seem familiar with opening the units, we can either send you repair parts (potential for both units) or you can return them to us. Our warranty is 12 months from the date of purchase or if the unit is out of warranty, most repairs are ~$150. If you’d like to proceed with an RMA for us to repair the units, please go [here](https://www.sparkfun.com/returns).

To determine if it’s the display or something else:

- Plug the unit into USB and a computer
- Do you see any COM ports or here any USB devices enumerate? If yes, the unit is running and if the display is still dark, then the display has malfunctioned.
- If you don’t see any COM ports, press and hold the display button for ~5 seconds. This should turn the unit on.
- Again, you should see a COM port appear on the computer telling you if the display is good or not.

If you get into an unknown state, you can hold the power button for ~15 seconds. This should force the unit off.

Let us know how you’d like to proceed.
