SparkFun Brushless 3-Phase Motor-Driver board capacitors?

Hello,

After carefully analyzing the SparkFun Brushless 3-Phase Motor-Driver board physical layout, I found the following elements on the driver’s board:

  1. six small SMD (Surface Mounted Device) high-precision (~1%) 01D (100000 Ohm based on EIA-96 marking standard) resistors;

  2. one small SMD R120 (0.12 Ohm) resistor;

  3. one small SMD 01B (1000 Ohm based on EIA-96 marking standard) resistor;

  4. one small SMD 331 (330 Ohm) resistor;

  5. one small SMD 222 (2200 Ohm) resistor;

  6. three small SMD capacitors with unknown capacitances;

  7. three small LEDs: green (D-jumper), red (V-jumper), and blue (S-jumper);

  8. TMC6300 motor-driver.

Based on the driver’s board schematic https://docs.sparkfun.com/SparkFun_Three_Phase_Motor_Driver-TMC6300/board_files/schematic.pdf , the driver’s board has three capacitors: C3 (10 uF), C4 (0.1 uF), and C5 (0.1 uF). The capacitors C3 and C4 are connected to the VIN pin based on the schematic. However, the SparkFun Hardware Overview Hardware Overview - Hookup Guide - TMC6300 BLDC Motor Driver and the schematic do not tell anything of C1 and C2. Could somebody please specify for what these two capacitors are? Or should C1 and C2 be just ignored?

It is impossible to visually define the capacitances of the three small SMD capacitors which are physically located on the driver’s board. Could somebody please clarify whether or not additional 0.1uF and 10uF capacitors should be soldered to the VIN pin?

Another question is about six 100kOhm resistors. Based on the visual estimation, it seems that the driver’s board already has six small SMD 100kOhm resistors connected to the PWM pins. Could someone please specify whether or not additional six 100kOhm resistors should be soldered to the PWM pins? Thank you.

Ignore things that are not labeled on the schematic…there isn’t C1, C2, D2, etc…the only things that will be on the board are the designated components

The 2 small capacitors are the 0.1uF ones (one is Vin as you mentioned, other is for the 1.8v output), big one is 10uF on Vin

Do NOT solder extra stuff unless you have a very specific reason to…the board comes with the capacitors & resistors that are accounted for in the schematic…that’s why you see them on the driver board
