I just purchased four of these for a surveying course and we are able to get the receivers to work and talk to SW Maps, but we’re unsure how we can turn one receiver into a base and have it send out corrections to the over receivers?

Simply hit the power button a short press, (long press turns them off) and scroll to Base by tapping the power button again, it should be the third option, 1. Mark, 2. Rover, 3. Base, 4. Config…

I did have a couple of follow up questions. We were able to get the base GPS to send corrections and we can see the symbol for corrections being sent and the RTCM corrections are being sent at 1 hz, which I’ve read is standard. The accuracy of the rover didn’t seem much better than previously without corrections .16 meters versus .20 meters. I don’t know if we were getting RTK fix and now know the symbol to look for on the rover - a bull’s eye with two rings.

Questions

1. Do we need to put in the known coordinates for the base?

2. Do we need to configure the rover to accept RTCM corrections?

Thanks,

Henry

I’m reading again the link and it looks like in “fixed” mode there has to be an input of coordinates. I"m also wondering how to access the other display. I only know about the serial display.

Are you using a phone app to connect to the units?

SW Maps works well and has an Ntrip client to send corrections via Bluetooth.

We’re using a tablet and I’ll check on NTRIP client, but we don’t want to pay money for a service. It’s a surveying class at a state university.

It might be easier through SW Maps to generate a rinex file and use OPUS to do PPK.

states usually have an Ntrip service available, also [rtk2go.com](http://rtk2go.com) is free, you can run a caster on the base sending corrections to the rovers, SW Maps has an Ntrip client built in. Using a serial connection you can configure the Facet to have the Ntrip client sending correction directly to rover.

What state are you in?

Being a university you should be able to gain access to the network. Additionally Emlid has a free service, [rtk2go.com](http://rtk2go.com) and google IGS it’s free and international.
