I’ve spent 2 days trying to upload a sketch to an Arduino Pro Mini from my MacBook Air. Whenever I try, I get a, “avrdude: stk500\_recv(): programmer is not responding,” message. Here are the particulars of my setup:

MacBook Air running MacOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra)

Arduino IDE 1.8.12

Sparkfun Pro Mini 5V, 16MHz (correctly selected in the IDE)

Sparkfun FTDI cable

FTDI driver 2.4.2

I’ve searched the forum and seen others with issues like this, but haven’t found a definitive solution. Any ideas?

Finally got it to work by using an Adafruit FTDI cable instead of the one from Sparkfun. Go figure.
