315MHz Transmitter

I am trying to build a battery powered transmitter that is activated by pushing a button. This is breadboarded and uses a WRL-10535 and WRL-10533 transmitter/receiver pair.

I desire this to be small.

It works now at a range of 8 to 10 feet…

Would love 200 ft.

Any thoughts? Do I need to get out of breadboarding? I am not using any antennas.

You’ should get several hundred feet of range if you use an antenna on both transmitter and receiver. A 1/4 wave whip (i.e. a piece of wire) is 9.37 inches or 23.8 cm long, but you can buy shorter, specially constructed commercial antennas for that frequency.
