5G Devices for SMS - Simple and Basic - (3g and 4g phased out)

Hello,

I am seeking to send an SMS text when a devices is triggered. (simple design)

Now that 3G and 4G has been phased out of the U.S. can anyone recommend the devices to achieve the basic text?

Is there a new 5G board and card that can connect to the UNO or similar?

or

Is there an all in one board (with digital or analog inputs) that can achieve the 5G SMS text.

Any recommendations and design comments are welcomed.

(Note - I do see devices listed in the cellular product area, however, with the new 5G change over in the US I am seeking to combine the correct devices.)

Thank you

If you are planning for a Raspberry Pi based project, you can consider RM500x / RM502x 5G HAT:

4G shutdown is years down the road so don’t be afraid of going 4G. Especially if you’re just sending texts.

I want to thank those who responded.

Since 4G is here to stay, I need assistance in picking the correct devices (recommended) for my project.

As previously stated, I would like a basic trigger to send a SMS (that simple).

In the past, the uno (redboard) would connect to a cellular board and it would send the signal.

Is there an all in one board in the Sparkfun lineup?

Does anyone recommend a combination of boards?

I also noticed the new SparkFun MicroMod Cellular Function Board - Blues Wireless Notecarrier.

Any suggestions from participants or the Sparkfun Moderators are welcomed.

Again, I’m going for basic.

Thank you
