Ability to interrupt usb power to microprocessor

Can anyone recommend a way to allow usb power, allow an on off switch for interrupting the power, yet allow signals to pass through to a microprocessor when power is on.

I mocked up a solution but the days is not coming through

Hi Doug.

I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking.

You might try cutting into a USB extension cable and finding the 5 volt wire. Then cut that wire and connect it to a SPST switch. That would allow you to shut off power to a USB device but still keep the data pins and ground in tact.
