Accelerometer without Microcontroller

I’m a noob to electronics but have dabbled a bit in it. I’m looking to design something that will detect if board is flipped over and will turn on led when it does. I’ve tried it will a ball type tilt sensor and they only take a few degrees to activate and a susceptible to vibration. Next I was looking at using either a RPI-1035 or a accelerometer for this. Is it possible to create a circuit that will determine if an object is flipped over withing 10-15 degrees of 180 without using a microprocessor. And I guess I’m asking for example or how to do it. Thanks

Some sort of switch with a hanging weight will work, if you have basic mechanical construction skills.
