ADXL345 evaluation board: pls help

hello all,

i have bought an ADXL345 eval board and trying to read the X, Y & Z values using a custom program that I have written. I am able to read the output of this board. can someone please let me know if these values are in units of miters/second squared, and are these x, y, z values straight acceleration values (of course in two’s compliment). how do i differentiate between acceleration due to gravity (tilt sensing) and linear acceleration due to motion.?

i am new to the accelerometers and new to Arduino. is it possible to load a custom code on to the evaluation board using some method? if yes pls give details.

Look at Sensitivity in Table 1 of the data sheet. Units are Full Scale G (G = gravitational Constant at the Earth’s surface).
