I have the LM4970 breakout board, and I bet the electret amp board would work nicely with this to make a color organ. 
I am building up a breadboard with the LM4970 as running lights for a model rocket and was planning to use a mic to generate light patterns from the audio of the launch. Looking forward to the release of the mic amp board because it looks to be the perfect fit for this application.
