Any hope for I2C or MicroPython/CircuitPython support in "qwiic-ublox-gps-py" package

I’d love to get my SF Ublox boards talking to a PyPortal display.

I know the package documentation currently says

This package is included in the overall SparkFun qwiic Python Package. While the module itself does not use I2C, it may none the less join the ranks when the Raspberry Pi has better support for clock stretching. None the less, a Qwiic connector has been included onboard so the GPS module can be used with our along side SparkFun’s Qwiic products.

The Ublox modules do support I2C and I understand the RPi may have issues with I2C, but I2C support within the package would be great for use with other microcontrollers that do have good I2C support, including those running CircuitPython/MicroPython.

So, any plans for adding I2C support in the SF Ublox Python package?

Eventually

I wish I had a better respsonse to offer, but…that’s where we’re at, for now

Checking back in on python support for uBlox boards. Any python development in the last three years?
