Arduino LCD and current sensing?

Hi,

I am new to Arduino programming and I have a project which requires a 4 line display. I am purchasing an Arduino Starter kit and need help picking the easiest Serial LCD to work in with it.

I am also looking for a method to measure current up to 15amps AC in real time. I was thinking of an inductance style sensor, but haven’t found one that i know for sure will work with the Arduino any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Greg

the guys on homeseer.com’s forum have done a lot with AC current sensors with computer interfaces. There are a couple of companies that make a plug and play sensor whose output is easy to process - current or voltage proportional and one, IIRC, is pulse frequency proportional.

Thanks Steve, Any suggestions on the Easiest LCD to work with?

no, I've used one with a serial interface connected to the AVR's UART. Costs a bit more, but simpler.
