Arduino Uno & SM5100B

Hi,

I’m new to the Arduino and I’m trying to make a remote sensing device using the SM5100B. I have the SM5100B unit hooked up to the Uno and when I start at terminal comms session I’m seeing all the right messages from +SIND: 1 all the way through to +SIND: 4, +SIND: 10 has '1’s in all the right places. +SBAND is correct at ‘4’ and when I type AT at the terminal I get an ‘OK’ back but when I try do make a call using ATDxxxxxxx all I get is +SIND: 5,1 followed within a second or two by ‘NO CARRIER’ and then +SIND: 6,1. I can call the device from my phone and I get ‘RING’ displayed in the terminal so I know it’s on the network, the SIM is activated and I’m getting a signal.

I’m using a UK Vodafone payg SIM.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks,

Alex
