Hi everyone, I’ve been working with a small team to port Atmel’s LightWeight Mesh stack to Arduino. LightWeight Mesh (http://www.atmel.com/tools/LIGHTWEIGHT_MESH.aspx) is a small-footprint wireless mesh networking (802.15.4) protocol that came out in September 2012 for Atmel’s RF product line.
We ported it successfully to the Arduino 1.0+ build and added some perks to the library like range testing. We’re also working on integrating over-the-air upgrading into the Arduino library, taking all of the fuss out programming Arduino’s wirelessly. Right now the chipset we’ve been testing on is the ATmega128RFA1.
We’ve invested the countless hours in software development to release our little Arduino-friendly board called the miniSWARM, a low cost wireless platform for home automation, robotics control and monitoring. Everything will be released as open source to the community in June 2013, as soon as we can get our project funded :-D.
