AutoRoute issue - does nothing all of a sudden

I am new to Eagle so please bear with me. This is the first thing I have designed in Eagle. I need to get these made ASAP and am running out of ideas.

I had this all done and autorouted once. It is a DE-9 breakout board with both M & F connections. I was afraid the thru holes for the terminal blocks were not right so I created the screw terminal part and inserted it into the breakout board I designed. I then tried to AutoRoute and it won’t do it. I created a new schematic and board, still won’t AutoRoute. Went back to my original board, keeping all the parts, just redid the wiring to force new airwires, and it won’t AutoRoute now. It seems like there is some option I have triggered that is causing this but I don’t know what. I looked at the DRC and even made the gaps, etc. extremely small and still nothing.

I am dumbfounded as to what I have done wrong. I appreciate everyone’s time is limited and you are spending some of it helping me.

Thanks,

Ryan

Why don’t you just manually route the traces? If you just changed out the terminal block and kept all the other routes in place, it should be very simple to do by hand.

The Eagle autorouter is rubbish, and only used by people who don’t know any better. There are good autorouters, such as Electra (it’s available for Eagle), but they are quite expensive.

Fixed :stuck_out_tongue:

Even ‘good’ autorouters are horrible in comparison to a good board designer. Even if you get a decent result, fixing it up takes almost as long as just doing it by hand anyway.
