AVR Newbie Needs Help Urgent plzzzzzzzzzzz

i have gone through the tutorials and i got all the necessary components

The programmer i used was from robokit

I have connected everthing as given in the tutorial

The power LED on the programmer is glowing dim wen i connected it to the parallel port

Wen i connected it to the AVR chip it is glowing brightly

But wen i click on AVR program

It is showing AVR device cannot be acessed

doubloe chek the connections it is showing

I checked all the connections using a multimeter

but can’t find what is wrong

The buffer chip on the programmer is 74HC541N

Where i am going wrong ?

Am i using a wrong software r wat

Vendor claims it’s STK200 compatible. So if you use Atmel’s AVR Studio it’s supposed to work. Studio has a built-in programmer.

Parallel port access, as you know, is prohibited in Windows XP. The work-round is a special OS driver.

Much better to use a serial or USB port programmer.

Then plz kindly let me know

how to gain parallel port access in windows XP

if there is any software etc…

plz kindly help me

giveio.sys is often used with gcc applications.
