Best ranging detection

Hi guys, I’m trying to detect a car moving ~ 35 mph from a distance of 50 feet of so. My application is to provide a notice (LED blinking) at my blind driveway that a car is approaching. I’ve experimented with the 6GHz Radar detectors, but can only achieve about 10-15 feet of detection range. And I note they ideally detect best when motion is toward/away from them, not pointed across a street. I have not experimented with LIDAR. Any thoughts on a long range detection method?

Thx!

So 35 MPH = 51.3 FPS - so that 50 foot range gives you one second to sense and react. Some Lidar sensors should be able to handle that, and they can probably sense farther than 50 feet - I think my Lidar Lite goes out to 40 Meters.
