Big Easy Driver: it will work with low nominal voltage stepper?

Hello folks,

I’m a little bit confused by what is reported in the Hookup Guide of the BED:

You can use any kind of power supply (desktop, wall adapter, battery power, etc.), but verify that whatever choice you go with is capable of providing up to 2A and falls in the range of 8V to 35V.

I have received my [Nema 11 bipolar stepper motor few days ago. Nominal characteristics says that it will use 1.5A at just 3V of voltage.

Will the BED work when my power supply unit provide so low voltage?](https://www.orientalmotor.de/Products/Stepper_motors/Stepper_motors/high_torque_2phase_motors_pkp/?arid=23564)

The BED will adjust output voltage to obtain the current level you’ve set with the current potentiometer on the board, it doesn’t send full supply voltage to the motor.

So, the BED will work with a 3 volt motor even when you’re applying 24 volts to the board, you just need to adjust the current for your motors needs.

Ok, thanks.

I’ve verified that few days ago, but I forgot to update this thread.
