I am assisting an Electrical Engineering student with a Sr. Design project. We need to find a cheap way to sync a blue tooth device to a phone and establish a connection. No data needs to be transferred though. We are just wanting to hold a connection for security reasons. We plan on a patent. I am new to blue tooth technology. I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion. I would really appreciate some advice.

Hi Josh,

I think the device you’re thinking of has already been invented, its called [ZOMM.

I don’t know much about bluetooth technology, so I’ll leave it to the experts. But if you do a quick search on SparkFun, you can find some bluetooth hardware ([HERE)

If that’s all, why not just pair an earphone to the phone?
