I changed the baud rate to 19.200 and now I can not connect to the bluesmirf gold from Arduino serial monitor. I followed the tutorial from here: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/us … esmirf/all
Can I reset the bluesmirf, I tried to use a jumper cable as per this https://youtu.be/PU4TMeQSvWw to no avail.
Was the unit powered for the reset? It’s hard to see, but there’s a +/- going to that board in the video, required for reset
Ah. I haven’t seen it. Will take a look tomorrow. Thank you!
Or… yes, I know. It says that in the description, that you should power it on while holding the jumper cable to pin 2 and 22 (not shure how the pins are counted but the pins in the video).
I tried once more and this time it worked.
Now I have another problem, or more precisely, this is the real problem.
I would like to use the Bluesmirf as bluetooth adapter instead of the original 50-60$ adapter to connect to the controller in my electric motorcycle. I use my phone together with android app from the controller manufakturer, Kelly, and I connect My phone to the bluesmirf and connected within the app without problem. I get a green led om the bluesmirf when I press “open” in the app. Then the fun stops. I get a pop-up saying “Can’t identify module name”. What does it say? Is it in fact a problem with the name I gave the bluesmirf or something else?
I use it with an external power source and connect the bluesmirf’s tx and rx to the tx and rx output from the controller.
