Hey guys I will apologise for perhaps a stupid question in advance and also thank you for any help you may be able to offer.
So I have been looking into getting a bluetooth RFID reader working with the iPhone. Quick run down of a few problems…

Apple are a bunch of &%$*#)"% they dont have a bluetooth stack with the capability to allow a SPP bluetooth connection only HID ones (MFI program out of the question).

Im a software enginner that dabbles in the realm of electronics as my reserch commands me to, so my knowledge is limited.
So I have an ID12 and a Bluesmirf HID, now I have had a look at connecting the ID12 to the BlueSmirf HID in the same way you would connect it to a BlueSmirf Gold (that I have done and have had data being sent to my PC via SPP connection). So I have my ID12 set up to output ASCII and have connected it to my BlueSmird HID connected it to an iPhone and no joy. So is the problem that the ID12 RFID chip isnt sending the data to the BlueSmirf or that the data being sent isnt in actual ASCII format so when the BlueSmirf HID receives it it cant do anything with it? I do have an arduino pro mini floating about in my office so if it is that I need to take the data from the ID12 and then process it before sending it to the bluesmirf that can be arranged.
Also just in case im running a ID12 and the BlueSmirf HID off 3 x 1.5v batteries which should be enough to power both but again im no expert so is it possile that the read range has dropped off?
Again thank you for any help you can possibly shed on this for me.
(Oh and the guides I found and kind of utilised to see if it was possible in the first place were… http://www.kobakant.at/DIY/?p=3310, http://www.instructables.com/id/Weather … ID-reader/)
Thanks, Zaff.
