Bluetooth® DIP Module-Roving Networks Configuration Circuit

Hi all,

I just got the new Bluetooth® DIP Module ( http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=8550 ) from Sparkfun and i’d like to create a small configuration circuit for it.

I’ve already created a power supply/regulator that gives me an extremely clean 3.3V with 3A. I also got a MAX3232 that will help me with the translation from RS232 to 3.3V TTL signals.

Now, what i need is a schematic that shows me how to connect the module’s pins to the MAX3232. I already know how to connect the TX and RX pins but i know nothing about CTS and RTS pins and how they connect (it’s the first time i’m about to use them). If anyone has any idea, or even better a simple schematic that shows how to connect those pins, i would really appreciate it if i could have that information. Links to schematics or to similar to the circuit i describe products are also welcome.

P.S.: I only want to develop a circuit for the module’s configuration. After i configure that, i’ll connect the module to a PIC in order to achieve communications with cellphones via BT.

Thanks.

you dont need CTS and RTS for config. just tie them together.

If you just want to configure it you can do that over the bluetooth connection. Just give it power and connect with your computer using a Bluetooth serial port (SPP). A port is usually created when you pair the module with your computer.
