Since we have green and red lasers, maybe a bluray one will be a nice addition.
I’ll have mine with TTL control please

Bluray or Blue laser
Blue lasers are VERY expensive. They are in their thousands from wicked lasers.
PSX3 replacement lasers (blueray) are about 60$, but from rather shady ebay merchants.
And that is for the whole reader block, not just the diode. I just want the diode
And, imho, wicked lasers are of bit on the rip-off side, I don’t plan to order anything from them.
I’ve heard of people buying red laser pointers, removing the laser module and replacing it with blue modules taken out of blu-ray drives. I’m pretty sure this requires a new electronics module as well. But you end up with a blue laser pointer for a fraction of the cost.

I don’t think they need a lot of electronics, just a constant current source.
Well, they do if you want to use the built in photo diode for feed back, but if you drive them not too close to the limits it won’t be a problem.
A red laser pointer limits the current with just a series resistor. Not too much about it.
