Broken Overheating Arduino

I bought an Arduino Mega 2560 in march but on the second week it broke.

When I plugged the Arduino in the computer the thing that says 500J started overheating and the computer didn’t recognize the Arduino. Also, the Arduino doesn’t work when I use a 9V battery to power it.

Is it too late to make an exchange?
