Now that it’s getting colder outside, I plan on getting back to some of my back burner projects. I want to get into the habit of recording what I do so I’m thinking of posting build logs. What works better: to just do a dump when the project’s done, or make periodic updates as it’s in progress? Bearing in mind that with my rare free time, the simplest projects take me months to complete 
It depends on what you’re going for and your audience. I try to post something to my blog weekly, whether it is one project or another, in progress or completed. For me, posting mid-project helps keep me motivated because someone else might be waiting to see the result. The mid-project updates might confuse someone just looking for the result, though, so sometimes a summary post is nice for a particularly long and confusing project.
