cant install Olimex ARM-USB-OCD

can anyone help.

I have contacted both Sparkfun ( who pointed mt to Olimex), and Olimex directly.

Olimex tried to help, but I still cant install the drivers.

device manager tells me the PID&VID are correct,

USB\VID_15BA&PID_0003\5&2C3A4F63&0&1

windows recognises the device as a " Olimex OpenOCD JTAG", and in device manager gives me the yellow question mark.

The hardware install wizard gives me “Cannot Install this Hardware” after I point it to the latest olimex ftdi drivers etc.

I have no other com ports being used.

Strange. The driver install was surprise-free for me. The version.txt file inlcuded with my install says the FTDI drivers are from 2008-03-13. Those work fine on my (32 bit) XP SP3 system.

What OS are you using. Are you using a laptop by any chance?

I’m having the same issue on one of my PCs. Its a Desktop running Windows XP 32bit SP3. It installed just fine on my laptop running Windows XP 32bit SP3.

Did you ever figure this out? What did you do to fix it?

@async.

I have not solved the problem.

I just installed win7 rtm on a different partition on the same laptop.

it installed fine on Win7

Hello Mike…

Just had a very similar problem and spent 2 days on it. Seems to have been because I’d copied the installation files from CD to hard drive, rather than installing directly.

To resolve the problem in XP…

Browse to C:/WINDOWS/INF/

Find the file oem*.inf that contains the details of the Olimex drivers, then delete the file.

Uninstall the Olimex device using Device Manager.

Then install the driver from CD.

Well it worked for me, anyway.
