Cell phone modules

Greetings,

I have been entertaining the purchase of one of Sparkfuns Cell phone modules. I see that they are all GSM/GPRS compatible. I have been trying to find out if this is work in Canada, esp. BC. From what I can find so far it seems like they will not work here, i think GSM/GPRS is no longer supported here… can this be true? I almost dont believe it.

Can anyone provide any insight or help?!
