Cellular Shield with SM5100B problem , no +SIND status...

Hello, first i was getting SIND status (etc , +SIND 1,+SIND 4) working with the simple sketch , now it doesn’t gives anything after “Starting SM5100B Communication…” , im using this program https://sites.google.com/site/terminalbpp/ to “talk” to the board.

if i send the command “AT+SBAND?” it answers … so i suppose it’s alive…

I managed “this” after playing with “AT+SIND=x” command , putting random number, after then !! no status after “Starting SM5100B Communication…”. what happened ??

thanks!

Looks like your board reset. Which usually means you are drawing to much current from the Arduino.

Need a datasheet link for the SM5100B, to help any further. Also a schematic for the wiring.

No it cant be this, im giving Vin of the shield 5V from external power supply capable of > 2A , its connected to arduino only with 2 cables for TX RX , shield is 2,3 and arduino is 2,3 also (in my example)…

The shield has a regulator , so 5V is something it can mess with…

Doesn’t mean your wiring is up to snuff or that any one of the regulators is overheating, shutting down and restarting.

And check the comments on the product page where it talks about feeding the module with 5v serial signals…poof!

What do yoy mean i didn’t understand… That has nothing to do with restarting shutting down ?

Serial signals , you mean the pins going from shield to arduino in order to communicate ? 2,3 pins ?
