CherryMX Breakout Board Wiring

Hey guys,

I’m a beginner with Cherry switches and I’m having trouble with these sparkfun breakout boards.

I’ve followed the breakout guide on the sparkfun website,

but there seems to be no explanation of how power and ground should be wired. I have everything wired exactly as shown in the attachment below – what are the missing wires I need to add? (Where does 5v and ground connect?)

Any help with this would be amazing, as I’ve been struggling with this for a few days now.

Hello, thanks for posting.

These switches don’t have a power and ground connection. All they do is connect the pin labeled 1 too the pin labeled 2 when the button is pressed.

Keep in mind there are multiple pin 1’s and 2’s on the board, but they are all the same. The reason for the multiple labels is so that you can connect multiple boards together and shift the position of each board relative to another. (Like how keys on a keyboard don’t line up perfectly.)
