Guys, hi ,
I’m Arie, a student in BioEngineering, i’m new on this forum and in the electronics realm (my background is software engineering) and would like to ask for some advice:
We are building a wireless blood-pressure sensor which has an analog output. I’d like to send the measurement data from the sensor to a mobile phone wirelessly over bluetooth.
I am thinking about connecting the analog output to an A2D converter, and connecting the A2D output to bluetooth device input which then will send the data to the mobile phone (that speaks bluetooth).
I found this component (BlueSmirf gold) which i think is what i need
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … cts_id=582
My question though is - how do i configure the bluetooth device with the right settings - how do i start a bluetooth session, set the sampling frequency e.t.c
my guess is that i need a micro-controller, ideally with some peripherials - to program it, to connect the bluetooth to, and so…
I’m really new with these stuff so i am trying to build the picture in my head before i hit the soldering table.
Could you please guide me through my first sparkfun project ?
What is the recommended processor (controller) for this purpose ?
Can i program it in C (this i am good at ;-).
Kindly advise.
Arie
