Hi gang.
I can’t seem to find the appropriate information anywhere, but my question is pretty simple. Can I directly connect the UART pins from my microcontroller (running off 5v regulated supply) to a [WRL-08474 module (running off 3.3v regulated supply)?
Thanks for your help. Talk to you soon.

there’s a lvl convertor available from sparkfun, or you could try 5V->3.3V by means of a resistor, but this is not advised afaik.
3.3V->5V will work without anything since 3.3V>2.5V.

Hard to find data on that BGB203 chip.
Designed by Phillips now NXP.
NXP sold their wireless chip products to something called STwireless…

That organizatoin’s website doesn’t seem to have data sheets
A technical overview at
http://www.futureelectronics.com/europe … t_V1_0.pdf
does mention Vpinio5v on page 7, for 5V tolerant pins but doesn’t say which pins are thus. That document isn’t a full data sheet though.
I Googled a while but didn’t find the data sheet for this apparently discontinued chip. More time Googling and you might find it.
Odds are, the pins you need are 5V tolerant, but that’s a guess.
