Connecting my pc to WIFI?

Hey all Whats up???

its a nice suny day here in israel

i starting a school project and i want to use WIFI for connecting my bored to my netbook for controlling it…

can you give me some info about how i start?

what wifi chip do i use? can i connect XBee-PRO to my wifi on the pc?

and may be you have some books or articles for beginners??

(*if i have some gramme or spilling mistakes Sorry  *)

thx!! Eldar.p.

XBee (Pro) is not WiFi.

IEEE 802.11 is WiFi as in your PC and home wireless router.

IEEE 802.15.4 is what Digi XBee uses.

They are quite different.

Which do you want to use?

XBee is far simpler/cheaper

I want to use the one that i can connect to my Pc WIFI (IEEE 802.11)

so what chips can i use? and do where i start?? :?

my be i can use a WIFI usb adapter?

here is simple way to connect your pc to wifi u must buy a wifi connector with adapter u can attach that adapter to your pc as well as laptop. thats it no u can enjoy your net without any interrupts.

Look at the offerings of ConnectOne, Digi, Lantronix, and Wiznet. They all have serial (RS, SPI) to wifi modules.

will get a solution already. if still not then do this. take USB wifi data connect to

your pc and wifi router will be stand on outside from your home.also you have

These sound like elegant solutions.
