Hello, I am a teacher at a private, k-12 school in SW Denver. I teach 6th and 7th grade computer science and design classes. In May, we have an Interim program that gets kids out of the regular classroom to learn and gain experience outside of the school. My Interim is called Toy Hacking. Each student takes apart an electronic toy and redesigns it to look and behave differently. It’s based on [this Sparkfun tutorial.
I am posting to ask makers for help in the following areas:
circuit hacking
circuit design
sewing
visual design
toy construction
The students will each have a [metro mini and access to a variety of LEDs, sensors and motors as well as what they take out of their toy. We would be able to pay a stipend of $150/day for two days during the week of May 13. Please contact me for more information. Thank you!!
