Detect another IR sensor /transmitter

Hi, I want to detect two of these separate IR sensors pointing at each other for the purpose of detecting two moving objects moving towards each other head on , ideally at a distance of something like 40 feet, at least 20 feet. Within a head-on angle of say 15°

I’m thinking that if this sensor normal is detecting reflected IR light, detecting another sensors light source should cause them both to detect each other at a great distance. Could anyone test this for meBefore I order two to try and figure this out?. It will be fine if the sensor still detects objects in front of it within 5 feet. Ideally it will also detect bike reflectors and reflector tape at a distance greater than 5 feet ideally 20 or 30 feet.

I’m planning to connect it to a buzzer that increases in sound as the distance decreases.

If it all works, I might try running the signal to a key fob and then relaying the key fob signal to an led light. But I have almost no idea how to do the key fob part. Tackle that if it works. Buzzer I can handle I think.

Thank you in advance.

I think it’s fairly unlikely that someone will pop by and try this out for you, but if/when you do the project be sure to stop back by and share your results!
