I’d suggest that SFE uses it because that’s what their target market uses - and thus that makes the most sense.

Yea, a two person shop that is said to have made a million dollars this year selling wigits. That doesn’t count at all!!! :wink:

Another option that I use is Kicad - full featured, and free.

Man, you’ve piqued my curiosity. A million dollars? Where did you see that information? I would not have thought that even such hard working and bright people could make a million in sales building kits to sell.

If Adafruit actually had a million in revenue they would have to grow beyond two people.

They would have to sell about 15 thousand ice tube clocks, or 30 thousand Arduino boards to cover that :shock:

From the video, they sold 10,000 of those miny bost kits this year. (That’s only about 30/day.) That’s their largest seller, in quantity. There are a lot of other things they sell that are much more expensive, so maybe 2,000 of one thing and 1,000 of another and bam, $1M in sales.

Sounds like we all need to get into the kit business. :wink:

Quite right Mr. Ant. My apologies. I did not intent to hijack, but that’s exactly what happened.

So, I have to say that Mr. Seidle gave some great answers on Saturday night about why SparkFun uses Eagle.

I use it because it was free and lots of other people were using it. I keep getting a little bit better at it each time I use it, but it can be tough.
