Disable Remote Receiver in LED Light?

Hi guys, I want to disable the remote receiver in this LED spotlight and just use the switch on the front. The remote control stuff seems to be draining the battery like crazy. Any suggestions on how to mod this? Thanks.

The simplest thing is to remove all the circuitry and add a resistor btw the on/off switch and the LED. Alas I don’t know what you’re using for batteries (3AAs ?) and the Vf of your LED (?white?). I will guess a 54.9 ohm or slightly larger, 1/8W resistor would suffice. Do you have a DMM ?

calcs :

4.5V max from 3 batteries. 20 mA max current. LED Vf = 3.5V.

(4.5 - 3.4)/0.02 = 55 ohms.

How many watts is the spotlight rated for? I’ll bet the LED current is a lot higher than 20 mA, so the best approach would be to measure the LED current while on, before attempting any mods.
