Drill file problems

timgray:
WHY is the drillfile scaled by 10?? or is there a bug in viewmate when importing the drillfile and it’s simply leading me to believe it is wrong?

ViewMate defaults to 3.4 format. Before you "Import" the drill file, click on "Options" and change the Data Format. You want Left of decimal: 2, Right of decimal: 3 and select Omit leading zeros. Click on "OK" then click on "Import".

I am a newbie and I am i trying to import my files into ViewMate. The Drill file works fine. However the other files do not. I believe their origin is not at (0,0). How would I set the origin in Eagle? How would I set the origin in ViewMate since this could also be the problem? Or does someone know another way I could have screwed up?

The manual got moved to: http://www.excellon.com/manuals/program.htm so the upper link is no longer valid

Hi,

Does anybody has a copy of http://www.excellon.com/applicationengi … rogram.htm ?

I would like to wrote a small program to convert excellon to gcodes and this would be very helpfull (the above page isn’t available).

thanks,

Daniel

I would just like to mention that if you submit a G-Code file to us - things most likely won’t work quite right.

Thanks for mentioning ! I was shure about that.

I’m desperately searching for that documentation because I’m building an small cnc and I want to convert those execellon files to gcode’s (the driving program doesn’t know excellon standard).

If somebody has saved the above link (http://www.excellon.com/manuals/program.htm) please send it to me too !

Regards,

Daniel

I get opposite results. I can import drd file just fine with 3.4 but NOT with 2.3. Also I do NOT supress any zeros:

Here is what it looks like when it works for me.
