EAGLE - connect top/bottom components in same place

In EAGLE, placing a couple of 1206 resistors, one on top layer, one on bottom layer, in the same place. Trying to connect a route between the two using a via ON the pad between the two.

In the attached pic, imagine R17 which will be on the bottom layer, placed under R15 which is on the bottom layer.

Can’t figure out the right combination of options to keep it from flagging overlay errors during DRC.

Ideas?

Run the trace away from the pad, then move the via on the pad. I just approve the errors.

That’s what I’ve been doing. Gets kinda old. Gotta be a script to handle that for me. Probably end up writing one.

Understood. But I almost always get some kind of error so it’s no problem hitting the approve button a few times… It’s basically the same thing anyways, you have to click a couple of times to run a script… Unless you have lots of instances of vias in pads, which I try to avoid anyway, makes soldering a PITA.

Anyway, if you do find a way or make a script, please share it.

A lot of people don’t like loading parts on both sides of a PCB. I don’t mind it for one-offs. Done right, it can really make the PCB small.
