Em 406 a altitude project

Hi

I am in a project right now and i want to get the profile of a car traject with the altitude option of the gps (em 406a), and finally find inclinaison in degrees on the road. I then gatter a value of altitude every 2 sec on the way. But i realized that even when im on a straight part of the road the altitude can varie up to 10m … Is there a way to get something with more precision??

sorry english is not my primary language :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for your help !!

That’s the in-built variance/accuracy of (commercial) GPS.

I’m not sure what the accuracy of barometric pressure sensors are, but I think your plan should be record the pressure at the bottom of the hill you want to measure, then you could record the change in pressure as you climb.

yeah your idea of mesuring the pressure is very good … althoutght i cant get what i need to do this, my two possibilities were with the GPS i already use for another part of the project, and an accelerometer… Im now working to mesure angles with the accelerometer, as i see that its hard with the gps …

Thanks for your response
