ESP32 Thing Plus gets VERY hot with LiPo 3.7v in connector

I plugged a 3.7v LiPo battery into the JST battery connector. Luckily I was holding the board in my fingers because I felt the PCB under the connector get very hot very quickly. I pulled the connector out immediately, and luckily the board seems to still work.

I verified that the battery was actually at 3.74v, and for laughs I also measured 130k resistance across the battery connector (so it wasn’t obviously shorted there at least).

I’m pretty sure I didn’t do anything wrong here?

Nevermind… I figured it out minutes after I posted

Pro-tip: Check the polarity of your battery against the teeny little polarity markings on the board at the connector. My batteries are all backwards wrt the board. A quick swap on the battery’s connector and everything is working fine now.
