so i just got some boards back from batchpcb, and there is some extra silkscreen that is not in my design. it has ‘ace17’ written on it, and it moves around slightly too, its in the same general area, but each one is slightly different. the silkscreen i put on it doesn’t move, which seems to indicate that its something separate.
i double checked my design, and its not there anywhere, in my eagle files, or the batchpcb rendered images.
I got marked too which was slightly disappointing. Sparkfun, if you folks are listening and I know you do, is it possible to not mark the boards or at least identify boards will be marked on the website?
Also are the boards no longer being tinned ? it looks like raw copper, so unless its a new process they’ve not been tinned. definitely different to my last batch.

SFEBPCB:
Yes it was OSP that was used for some of the panels. We had been receiving complaints about the solder on the pads not mixing well with solder paste, causing unnecessary rework on prototypes. Out of concern of our customers ruining precious parts, we tried to reach a solution that would best for all. We have scrapped the OSP and have returned to the normal Batch PCB solder covered pcbs. Flux helps with soldering on the bare copper. Apologies for any inconvenience. If anyone has any further questions, feel free to email us at Support@batchpcb.com.
If this is true, I may return my boards and ask for a refund, and not place future orders. Nowhere does it say during ordering process that boards will be marked, and I certainly do not need anyone’s QC stamp on my boards. This was not mentioned during ordering, and ammounts to SF’s supplier defacing our work and false advertising, does it not? It’s been 7 days since the last order shipped, I’m 5 shipped panels away from mine shipping and am holding off any future orders until I see what my boards look like. If they are marked then I’m goign to switch back to PCBCart.com, as even though they charge a setup fee, the per board prices are much lower.
