I purchased this display back in Nov with a Sparkfun XBee IOT kit for LoRaWan in hopes to use it to display the values from the sensor. I then found out that the kit did not have enough memory to house the driver for both. Since then I obtained a Taachyon processor which supports the Sparkfun Qwiic sensors and devices. I have now tested this display with and without the sensor in the mix. In all cases, the Display is not detected on Any of the i2c ports. I have also verified that the hardware is indeed an i2c version and it is at its default configuration from Sparkfun. Based on the troubleshooting I have preformed, it does appear to be defective.
To be clear, you tried i2cdetect and nothing is coming up?
That is correct. To be clear, using the same i2c port and cable, using the Environmental combo sensor, I get an 53. When I then switch to the display, I get nothing on the i2cdetect.
We usually honor a 30-day return window but I’ll make an exception in your case if it was purchased from us (we can’t control our distros policies, they’d likely stick to the 30-days)?
If so head over to Return Policy - SparkFun Electronics and reference this thread and we’ll get ya fixed up
