Assistance required by an old fart, please. The last time I did any programming was last century, using dBaseIII, so please bear with me.
I want to install an Arduino in a device that could be stolen (I live in South Africa), so I want to install a GPS and cellular shield onto the system.
Does anyone have some code that would determine the GPS position of the system and send this as data from the cell SIM to a pre-programmed cellular phone at times that can be set, i.e. every 5 or 30 minutes?
Well, if the phone can run apps like this, it would be expensive… Although I have not done this type of project, I would say yes, it’s possible… Google around for some similar projects, I am sure someone has posted this somewhere.
Thanks guys. The Arduino will be the heart of the system controlling various processes. What I want is if the device’s position changes without being switched off, it should then text its position every few minutes. The sort of criminal here will steal a car to get one tire, so a cell phone will be the target for the criminal. If it is an electronic device, he would not know what it is.
