Hi! What is flux core wire?
Hi Owen,
Flux core wire refers to a solder wire with a rosin/flux core that allows it to flow/melt more evenly. Most commonly, you’ll find this in unleaded solder to help reflow the metal alloy the solder is made of. [This section of our How to Solder: Through Hole Soldering goes into this and more in greater detail.](How to Solder: Through-Hole Soldering - SparkFun Learn)
Flux-cored wire is a semi-automatic arc welding process is widely used in construction because of its high welding speed and portability.
